CrazyGames Kids - Privacy Policy

CrazyGames Kids (kids.crazygames.com) is a free browser games website that is dedicated to children below the age of 13. This CrazyGames Kids Privacy Policy is intended to help parents understand what data is collected, why we collect it, what we do with it, and our privacy controls.

Which data do we collect and how do we use it?

CrazyGames Kids does not collect name, address, or other contact information from children. The Site doesn’t have any chat system or user login whatsoever. Only when you send us an e-mail, we will optionally process the following types of Personal Information on the basis of consent:

  • First name
  • Name
  • E-mail
  • Other information that you provide

We, and our third-party service providers, may automatically collect "Device Identifiers", such as IP addresses and device IDs, associated with the device used to access the Site. These Device Identifiers are considered Personal Information for children. We, and our third-party service providers, use Device Identifier information only to support internal operations, including to optimize the services we render and the content we provide on the Site and to serve contextual ads.

We, and our third-party service providers, may also automatically or passively collect certain "Usage Information", such as the browser and operating system you are using, information on how you arrived on the Site, and all of the areas within our Site that you visit. We may use Usage Information for a variety of purposes, including enhancing the Site and our products and services.

We base the use of any automatically collected data on CrazyGames Kids on our legitimate interest in offering and securing our Site, and pursuing the following processing purposes:

  • For the functioning of the Site, such as remembering settings and game progress and to serve contextual ads.
  • For determining, exercising and defending our rights
  • For complying with legal obligations and requests of authorized governmental institutions, for example if we receive an injunction that we need to adhere to.

We are not responsible for any Personal Information collected via any third party software or methods present on the Site and to which said third parties’ general terms and conditions may apply.

How do we use cookies?

To collect Usage Information and Device Identifier, we, and our third-party service providers, may use “Cookies” and “Local Storage”. Cookies are small bits of data that can be placed on your device when you visit the Site. Certain web browsers and add-ons may provide additional and Local Storage mechanisms that are used for the same purposes as cookies. When we speak of Cookies, we also mean Local Storage, unless we say otherwise.

Cookies and Local Storage may be used for various purposes, such as remembering the progress of a game. Visitors are under no obligation to provide any information about themselves to us. However, if you choose to disable Cookies or to adjust privacy settings on your device, some features of the Site may not function properly.

In most browsers it is possible to update the settings so that you receive a warning before a Cookie is placed. In most cases it is also possible to configure a browser to refuse all Cookies or only third-party Cookies. It’s also possible to delete Cookies which are already placed.

How do we share data?

We do not disclose children's Personal Information to third parties, except for Device Identifiers and Usage Information as discussed above. This data is only shared with regards to the safety and security of the Site, and to service providers who provide support for the functioning of the Site and who do not disclose or use the Personal Information for any other purpose.

We only share data on a need-to-know basis with third parties. "Need-to-know" means that a party only gets access to the data if and insofar as this is required for the professional services provided by this party.

We work with advertising companies, analytics providers, and other service providers to serve advertisements on the Site, to provide us with information regarding Site traffic, and to serve our advertisements. Our service providers may set and access their own tracking technologies on your device. They may collect or we may give them access to your Device Identifier and Usage Information, provided that this data will be used only to support internal operations. We only allow contextual advertising on CrazyGames Kids. You will not see ads targeted to a specific user.

Where do we transfer data?

Third parties involved in the processing of data originating from the EU, may be located in a country outside the EEA.

The transfer of Personal Information to a third party outside the EEA can be legitimized based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission, in which it is decided that the (part within the) third country in question ensures an adequate level of data protection. On the website of the European Commission, you can find an overview of the adequacy decisions that have been taken.

If Personal Information is transferred to a country outside the EEA for which there is no adequacy decision, we rely on our contractual agreements with third parties to safeguard the protection of Personal Information, in line with what is approved by the European Commission. Where appropriate, additional safeguards are taken.

In specific situations we can also rely on the derogations from article 49 GDPR to legitimize the data transfer. This means that we may transfer Personal Information: (i) with explicit consent, (ii) if this is necessary for the performance of a contract that has been concluded with the Site visitor or has been concluded in its interest, or (iii) if this is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Lastly, in exceptional cases we may also transfer a Site visitor’s data if the data transfer is necessary for our compelling legitimate interests and is not overridden by the Site visitor’s interests or rights and freedoms.
